I won’t go into the other crazy things that happened to St. Situated at the confluence of the Muddy and Virgin rivers, the soil was fertile. Thomas was a bustling little town for several decades after it was founded by Mormon settlers in 1865. After that, my tour of weird Nevada will move mostly up through the western side of the state along Interstate 95. That makes a few of these weird wonders worth a day trip if you are in Las Vegas or even Death Valley. To help you find these oddities in Nevada – sometimes seemingly in the middle of nowhere, which can be said about much of the state - I’ll start from the south in and around the Las Vegas area. All of which I intend to explore on future Nevada road trips in search of The Odd and The Wonderful.
